An old-school amber done properly: aldehydic sparkle and spiced iris powder on top, resins and creamy sandalwood holding it down.

Aldehydes open it with a bright, faintly fizzing shimmer, the sort that makes a fragrance feel formally dressed from the first spray. Bergamot and tangerine sit inside that lift with a clean, peeled-citrus tang, while pink pepper adds a dry crackle that keeps the top from tipping into soap.

The heart is the classical part. Cinnamon brings a dry, bark-like warmth rather than a bakery sweetness. Orris lays a cool powder over it, rooty and a little lipstick-smooth. Hawthorn adds a pale, dusty-sweet floral note that stops the spice from closing in too quickly.

From there it sinks into the base and stays put. Tonka bean and vanilla build the soft ambered sweetness the name promises, myrrh adds a dark balsamic resin with a trace of bitterness, and sandalwood gives it a creamy, milky grain. Musk smooths the edges while oakmoss runs underneath as a dry, mossy-green shade, keeping the whole thing grown-up and faintly vintage. On a cold evening it clings to a coat beautifully.

How to wear

This one rewards restraint: one spray at the throat, one on each wrist, then give the aldehydes ten minutes to settle before you judge it.
