Atheer Divine starts with that scrubbed, sparkling lift that only aldehydes give: a sort of cool fizz over the top of bright bergamot, clean in the way a shirt is clean when it has been dried outdoors. It is bracing for the first minute and then it settles.

Orange blossom takes the heart on its own, and having no competition suits it. The flower comes through soft and slightly honeyed, floral without any sugar, and it warms the cool opening from underneath rather than replacing it.

The base is quiet and well-mannered. White musk does most of the work, powdery and skin-close, while cedarwood adds a pale, dry grain so the finish has a little structure rather than drifting away. The overall effect is faintly soapy in the flattering sense: fresh, tidy and comfortable.

It suits autumn and winter well and never feels wrong in spring. Wear it to work, to a quiet dinner, or on the days when you want to smell looked-after rather than noticed. Shared easily between men and women.

How to wear

Spray 2-3 times on pulse points (wrists, neck, behind the ears) from about 15cm away. Apply to moisturised skin and don't rub, so the aldehydes and bergamot stay crisp. A light mist on a collar keeps the orange blossom and musk with you.
