Café Opus begins with bright tangerine against roasted sesame, a sweet-and-nutty pairing that smells expensive from the very first spray. Creamy ylang-ylang oil and powdery heliotrope soften the middle into something almond-like and almost marzipan smooth. The finish is deep and syrupy: caramelised vanilla, maple-toned immortelle and resinous benzoin, warm and thoroughly edible.

It is rich but polished rather than loud, so it carries from a long lunch through to dinner and beyond. Autumn and winter are its home, especially for evenings, date nights and occasions worth marking.

How to wear

Spray 2-3 times on pulse points (wrists, neck, behind the ears) from about 15cm away. Apply to moisturised skin and don't rub, so the nutty top notes stay clear. A light mist on knitwear or a scarf holds the resinous vanilla base beautifully.
