It begins fizzy and tart. Sour cherry, raspberry and mandarin orange snap against a twist of pink pepper, with peach, pear, red apple and blackcurrant pouring juice over the top. Then the candy floss arrives: marshmallow and vanilla spun through gardenia, jasmine, orchid, sweet pea and freesia, so the sugar comes wrapped in white petals rather than served neat. The dry-down is the surprise - white suede, sandalwood, Virginia cedar and oak with caramel, benzoin, amber, patchouli and clean musk, which gives the whole thing a soft, powdery poise instead of a sticky one.

How to wear

Mist the Eau de Parfum two or three times onto moisturised wrists, throat and behind the ears from around 15cm and let it dry by itself - rubbing flattens the cherry and raspberry opening. Follow with a single pass of the oil over the same points if you want more warmth and depth; it is concentrated, so go lightly. A whisper on a scarf or coat collar keeps the candy floss with you through the day.
