Mousuf starts rich and dark. Ripe grape arrives first, jammy rather than fresh, and chocolate steps in almost on top of it, more cocoa dust than confectionery. Together they set a deep, fruity tone from the very first press of the atomiser.

The middle smooths everything out. Soft musk slides in and agarwood sits behind it, giving a quiet woody weight that stops the sweetness running away with itself.

The close is the cosy part. Toffee thickens on skin, a dry curl of tobacco leaf adds warmth without smoke, and a faint floral thread lifts the very end so it finishes rounded instead of heavy.

Autumn and winter are its months, and it carries from a daytime coffee through to a long evening without changing its mind. Written for women.

How to wear

Two or three sprays will do it: wrists, the base of the throat and behind the ears, held roughly 15cm away. Moisturised skin holds the toffee and tobacco far better than dry skin, so apply straight after a shower. Leave it to settle on its own instead of rubbing the wrists together, which flattens the grape.
