Mousuf Ramadi snaps open on bergamot, lime and orange. It is a clean citrus start, sharp and cold for a moment, and it does not hang about.

The spices take over quickly. Cardamom leads with that slightly green, almost medicinal lift it has, pepper adds bite, nutmeg rounds the corners, and a powdery thread of violet runs quietly through the middle of it all and keeps the spice from turning harsh.

What is left after an hour is the part worth buying it for: oakmoss, dry and faintly bitter, with amber and musk warming it from below. Understated, a little austere, and very easy to live with.

Autumn and winter are its seasons, it moves from a workday to an evening without complaint, and it reads well on men and on women.

How to wear

Two or three sprays are enough: wrists, throat and across the chest before dressing, from roughly 15cm. Moisturised skin draws out the cardamom and nutmeg; dry skin pushes the citrus forward instead. Let it settle without rubbing, and add one spray to a coat collar if you want the oakmoss to follow you.
