Mystic Terrain opens ceremonial and bracing: frankincense and elemi resin, a squeeze of lemon and bergamot, and a crackle of cardamom and Sichuan pepper. The middle walks into rougher country, where patchouli, anise, coriander, cumin and saffron are laid over a quiet rose and orange blossom, with dry wormwood and geranium keeping it herbal. Then it settles: more frankincense, oud, benzoin, opoponax, labdanum, birch and ambergris wrapped around vanilla, amber, maltol and musk, so the sweetness and the smoke hold each other in place.

This is a scent with weight, best suited to cold weather and long nights. Save it for autumn and winter evenings, date nights and special occasions. It is made to be shared by men and women.

How to wear

Spray 2-3 times on pulse points (wrists, neck, chest) from about 15cm away. Apply to moisturised skin and don't rub, so the resins open slowly. One spray on a wool coat or scarf is plenty, as the smoke and oud carry well on fabric.
