Spiced orchard fruit that turns into saffron and rose and then dries down on bare wood - Celestial Feathers is the most layered scent in the line.

It opens on fruit with a kick. Apple and peach come through round and slightly tart, lemon sharpens them, and pepper and cardamom land on top with a dry crackle so nothing reads like a fruit bowl. A thread of green notes runs underneath, keeping the opening crisp while the spices settle in.

From there it becomes a different fragrance. Saffron arrives leathery and faintly medicinal, rose and jasmine build a full floral centre around it, violet powders the edges, and coriander keeps the spice moving. Then cypress cuts in - resinous, upright, almost austere - and gives the heart a seriousness you would not predict from the fruit. This is the part of the scent that makes people ask what it is.

The close is dry and bare. Cedarwood and gaiac bring pencil-shaving sharpness and a smoky warmth, dry woods strip out any remaining sweetness, and amber glows underneath without turning sticky. As an Extrait de Parfum the concentration is higher than an Eau de Parfum, which matters in a composition this busy: each stage gets its turn instead of collapsing into one blurred accord.

How to wear

Three sprays is enough: one at each side of the neck and one on a wrist, held about fifteen centimetres away so the spiced top notes disperse rather than sitting in one spot. Let it rest for ten minutes before you judge it, because the saffron and rose heart needs a little time to come forward.
