Shams Al Emarat Khususi Iced Petal starts chilly on purpose. Ginger gives a fresh, slightly fizzy bite, saffron lays a dry metallic note across it, and crisp apple cuts through the middle while lavender keeps the whole opening aromatic and clean.

The thaw begins in the heart. Orange blossom opens out, soft and faintly honeyed, and sugar sweetens it until the frosted edge of the opening has gone entirely.

From there it only gets warmer. Vanilla and caramel thicken on the skin, benzoin adds a resinous, balsamic depth, and cashmeran, amber and musk wrap the finish in something plush and gently powdery.

It is made for autumn and winter, worn in the daytime or saved for an evening, and it was composed for women.

How to wear

Two or three sprays on moisturised wrists and the throat, held about 15cm from the skin, will carry it comfortably. Spray and leave it; rubbing dulls the ginger and saffron before they have done their work. A single spray on the inside of a coat sleeve keeps the caramel and vanilla close by.
