Sunset Mirage opens juicy and wide. Mandarin leads, round and sweet-skinned, with grapefruit cutting a sharper line through it, while a marine accord spreads underneath to keep everything airy and lightly saline. It arrives bright rather than loud - closer to the smell of clean skin in good weather than to anything heavy.

The middle softens into lily of the valley: dewy, green-stemmed and white-petalled, the most watery of florals and perfectly placed here. Bergamot keeps a citrus thread running alongside it so the floral never becomes thick or over-scented. The effect is breezy and faintly soapy in the best possible sense - freshly laundered rather than heavily perfumed.

As it settles, ambroxan brings that clean mineral warmth that holds onto skin, musk smooths the edges, and moss adds a cool, shaded green note that stops the dry-down from drifting into anything generic. How to wear
