Zahrah Lilac Dream opens on a handful of red fruits - raspberry sharp and bright, peach soft and full - with violet threaded through them like a cool draught. The fruit is juicy rather than sticky, and the violet lends it a faintly dusty edge from the very first spray.

The middle is where the powder arrives properly. Rose geranium brings a green, slightly peppery rose instead of a jammy one, and iris settles over the top with that loose-powder softness you get from a well-used vanity case. The fruit does not disappear; it simply blurs.

Cedarwood underneath keeps the finish from floating off, dry and fine as pencil shavings, while white musk smooths the whole thing into a quiet, worn-in warmth that sits close to the skin.

How to wear
